Looks like the cast of Gossip Girl is – wait for it – quacking up!
While shooting scenes for The CW drama's upcoming fifth season, Leighton Meester mingled with a local duck at New York's Central Park Wednesday.
The actress was later joined by costar Ed Westwick, who shared some screen time of his own with the brown bird. Lately, Westwick has mostly been accompanied on set by the show's newest addition, a dog. Things are becoming a real animal house on the Upper East Side!

Ed Westwick once pretended to be in the army to pick up a girl.
The 'Gossip Girl' star admitted he had trouble attracting the opposite sex before he became famous and had to resort to desperate measures, although they didn't always work.
He told Australia's 2Day FM radio's 'Kyle and Jackie O Show': "I told one girl I was in the army, I pulled the serviceman thing. Before my 'Gossip Girl' days. It didn't work, I got thrown back. I should have had the uniform, it would have made things very different."
Ed's 'Gossip Girl' co-star Blake Lively is currently dating Leonardo DiCaprio, who he recently worked with on Clint Eastwood's new movie 'J. Edgar' and the 24-year-old star joked their relationship will only last if he doesn't "put the moves" on either of them.
Asked if the couple will last he quipped: "Yeah maybe who knows, depends if I choose to put the moves on either one of them.
"I did just work with him recently. I had a role in Clint Eastwood's new movie 'J. Edgar' with him.
"I play a young FBI agent so I'm really looking forward to that."

The cast of Gossip Girl was back to work in the Big Apple yesterday, filming at multiple locations around town. Blake Lively changed from green shorts and a sweater into sequins and a flowy skirt, while Leighton Meester, in a camel fascinator and leopard-print shift, teamed up with Ed Westwick at Central Park's duck pond. Chace Crawford got back to work as well, sharing an exchange of words, and hot kisses, with returning face Kaylee DeFer. The small-screen costars went their separate ways over the Summer. Blake vacationed in Europe and recently visited Leonardo DiCaprio in Australia, as Leighton promoted Vera Wang's latest fragrance, Love Struck, and talked makeup tips with BellaSugar. The entire gang has been steadily working for the past month, on both coasts, for what's sure to be an exciting return on Sept. 26 following their jaw-dropping season four finale.

Blake Lively might be feeling a bit lonely after her recent return from spending time with boyfriend Leonardo DiCaprio.
So the 24-year-old actress spent some quality time with her pet pooch Penny yesterday but looked distracted while taking her dog for a walk.
The Gossip Girl star chatted on the phone and was devoid of any make-up as she made her way to the New York set of her hit television show.

Who's on the phone? She seemed to be missing her boyfriend Leonardo DiCaprio who she had spent last weekend with in Austrialia
Wearing a strapless patterned dress, Blake carried a large handbag and a shopping bag and stopped on the pavement while she patiently waited for Penny to sniff around.
Blake has just spent a fun-filled romantic weekend visiting Leo Down Under in Australia, whilst he films The Great Gatsby.
So she could be forgiven if she was feeling some separation anxiety being away from her beau.

Her happy demeanour is no doubt partly due to her romance with Leo which is getting more serious as time goes on.
The glamorous blonde has just arrived back in New York after her birthday celebrations with the actor in Australia last weekend.
The couple were spotted enjoying an intimate dinner at Aria, which overlooks the Sydney Harbour, on Saturday night.

They then visited the Featherdale Wildlife Park west of the city on Monday.
A spokesman for the park said they met Austin the koala, a dingo pup called Nala and an unnamed saltwater croc, as well as Cuddles the python, a baby wombat and a Tasmanian Devil.
They spent an hour at the park mingling with other tourists.
Leo wore a baseball cap and Blake wore a hat to spot them being recognised by too many visitors.

A park spokesman said: 'The pair seemed really happy in each other's company and there was no diva-like behaviour from either of them.'
The spokesman, talking about the pair's visit, also added: 'On Monday afternoon we received a phone call requesting a private guided tour for a VIP group.
We do these quite often for international visitors so it wasn't really anything out of the ordinary and we weren't advised who would be visiting.
'It was quite a nice surprise to see Leo and Blake arrive.

'They both loved the koalas and spent quite a bit of time with Austin, one of our younger koalas.
'Both Leo and Blake were friendly and inquisitive about the animals.
'We took them into the dingo enclosure where they met one of our dingo pups called Nala.

'They weren't at all afraid of the animals including the young saltwater crocodile and diamond python, Cuddles, that we brought out for them to meet.
'They spent over an hour wandering through the park and as it was fairly quiet, they weren't recognised by too many visitors.
Other stars to have visited Featherdale include Taylor Lautner and Kristen Stewart from the Twilight movies.

Some interesting and puzzling Gossip Girl set photos
Most of the time when we show you set photos here, they are pretty standard stuff-- Leighton Meester and Blake Lively strolling in the park in pretty dresses, Ed Westwick bedazzled in a suit, Penn Badgley looking like scruffy Dan Humphrey.
But this set of recent photos holds a few surprises about the upcoming season.
There was a lot of action on the New York set of the show yesterday with Blake Lively, Leighton Meester, Ed Westwick, Chace Crawford and Kaylee Defer all reporting to work.
One of the biggest surprises might be a kissing scene shot between Chace and newcomer Kaylee. Will Nate Archibald be getting down with Serena's faux cousin Charlie in Season 5? And how will this affect his May-December romance with guest star Elizabeth Hurley, who plays the character of Diana Payne in the new season? Knowing cousin Charlie's history (or should we say Ivy's history), she could just be scheming and using Nate to get what she wants.
In another revealing and strange photo, we see Chuck Bass holding a duck. We have no idea what will be going on with Chuck next season, but we can't imagine any scenario where the character would need to hold a duck. And this isn't the first time that Ed Westwick was photographed with a dog on set. His character has been spotted walking a dog as well.
In less exciting - but still interesting - news, we get our first glimpse of Serena's new love interest (played by actor Brian Smith) and see her laugh like a hyena all at the same time.
And it looks like Blair is taking this whole royal wedding thing seriously. She's apparently getting into the hat trend. But, in all seriousness, we love this look on Leighton.

'Gossip Girl' season 5: Blake Lively appears to have fun on set
Blake Lively is one of the cornerstones of " Gossip Girl ," and on Thursday the actress returned to the show's set wearing a rather chic outfit -- but most importantly a giant smile on her face.
So where has Lively been as of late? The actress was most recently on a trip to Australia, where she spent some time taking in some of the sights (including a wildlife park) with boyfriend Leonardo DiCaprio. Leo is currently in the country shooting an adaptation of "The Great Gatsby" with director Baz Luhrmann (who he worked with previously on "Romeo + Juliet").
As for what's coming up for Lively's character of Serena, we know that she is going to spend a considerable amount of time this season in Los Angeles -- which is one of the destinations in which she is going to try and establish some serious direction for her life. (On this occasion, though, she was shooting in New York City.)

OMFG, you guys. After much unpleasant waiting, the new season of Gossip Girl is finally almost here, and it looks like it might be the most ridiculous one yet. It takes place at least partly in Los Angeles, to which Blair correctly refers as “a plastic surgery layover, not somewhere you live.” In the promo, we see Nate and Chuck being total playboys on some kind of yacht; Serena uttering the catchphrase “he’s Chuck Bass;” Nate fake-admitting to being “that guy from that movie;” Chuck acting as a stuntman; and Nate becoming Elizabeth Hurley‘s boy toy.
Notably absent from this promo are Vanessa and Jenny (R.I.P.), as well as the rest of the Humphrey/Van der Woodsen clan. So basically, only the most fun-to-watch characters get to go to L.A. This is obviously a huge improvement over seasons past, although I wouldn’t be surprised if they found some contrived way to get Dan and his six-pack out west for a bit, too. Of particular interest is the still featuring Dan and Blair; could their unlikely, screwball comedy-esque near-relationship continue into the show’s fifth season?? Dair fans everywhere are holding their breath. (All ten of them.)

Gossip Girl's Leighton Meester Looking to End One Mother of a Problem
Leighton Meester is looking to put an end to her mama drama.
The Gossip Girl star has filed a petition with Los Angeles Superior Court asking a judge to throw out Constance Meester's $3 million breach of contract suit against her as a "matter of law" on the grounds that the latter's allegations are frivolous.
Here's the gist:

Per court docs filed last week and obtained by E! News, Leighton's attorneys contend that Constance is suing her daughter over "a non-existent ‘management agreement;" "an alleged ‘support agreement" and "an alleged settlement agreement."

The very suggestion that the actress had an oral contract to pay her mother $10,000 a month for life is ridiculous, Team Leighton claims.
And just because Leighton gave her mom money before, that doesn't mean she has to keep paying her, according to her lawyers.
"None of these agreements are valid or enforceable as a matter of law," the filing states.
The 25-year-old thesp sued her mom in July in order to have a judge declare that there never was any oral agreement between them and was promptly sued right back. In that lawsuit, she claims she voluntarily gave Constance $7,500 a month to help provide medical care for her younger brother, Lex, who underwent brain surgery last May, as well that Constance used the dough for, among other things, cosmetic procedures including "plastic surgery on her face and stomach, Botox injections for her face, fillers for her hands and hair extensions."
Leighton's suit maintained that, not only has the Country Strong star endured a "difficult relationship" with her mother, but also that mama Meester is a freeloader who refuses to work, instead opting to live off the generosity of her daughter.
Constance does have criminal history: She has done time in federal prison for her part in a drug smuggling ring (during which time she gave birth to Leighton).
A hearing on the matter is scheduled for Oct. 5. A lawyer for Constance as unavailable for comment.

Clint Eastwood’s ‘J. Edgar’ To Premiere At AFI Fest 2011
While it was previously reported that Clint Eastwood was unlikely to make any major festival appearances in the run up to the release of his latest effort “J. Edgar,” the director will now give it a splashy red carpet premiere at the AFI Fest a few days before it rolls out to multiplexes across the country.
Though it’s a bit more star oriented than film driven festivals like Venice, Toronto and New York, the AFI Fest is still a notable stop on the festival circuit, and Eastwood will get the opening night gala slot with “J. Edgar” set to screen on November 3rd. Penned by “Milk” screenwriter Dustin Lance Black, with Leonardo DiCaprio in the lead role, the film is a decades-spanning look at the life of the controversial head of the FBI. An extensive cast that includes Armie Hammer, Naomi Watts, Ed Westwick, Damon Herriman, Judi Dench, Ken Howard, Jeffrey Donovan and Stephen Root round things out for what promises to be an intriguing ensemble piece.
Now, don’t get it twisted. The very late appearance on the festival slate has less to do with the quality of the movie, and more to do with Eastwood going down to the wire to get the film cut and finished—“J. Edgar” only started shooting at the end of February. That said, an appearance at AFI Fest means it won’t get quite the same press scrutiny as it would have if it premiered at Toronto, New York or London, which could mean a missed opportunity to build buzz. On the the one hand, if the flick is a dud, Warner Bros. won’t have to worry about advance bad press as the movie opens just days later.
“J. Edgar” will open on November 9th, and we’d guess we’ll be getting some kind of trailer soon. Will Clint shake up the Oscar race? Time will tell.

Gossip Girl was back filming on location in NYC today, and Blake Lively didn't let the rain dampen her mood. Blake kept warm in a pair of sweat pants and rain boots; however, when the cameras started rolling she slipped into a pair of lime green stilettos and ditched her baggy pants in order to show off her famously long legs. The new season kicks off Sept. 26, and Buzz has a first look at Gossip Girl's season five promo. The cast heads to the West Coast for the opening episode full of sexy hookups, lies, and, of course, fantastic fashion. Blake spent a few weeks in LA filming for that episode, which gave her additional time to hang with boyfriend Leonardo Dicaprio. Inside the Strange Legal Battle Between 'Gossip Girl' Star Leighton Meester and Her Mother (Analysis)
Did the Meesters really have a contract with each other?
The legal dispute between Gossip Girl star Leighton Meester and her mother is one of the stranger ones in Hollywood right now. Just how bizarre can be witnessed in the court papers filed by the daughter in an attempt to get a judge to dismiss her mother's $3 million breach-of-contract lawsuit.
To recap, the actress sued Constance Meester in July over allegations that money sent her way was diverted. The younger Meester said she gave money to her mother on a monthly basis so her brother could get medical attention, not because there was any contractual obligation to do so, and certainly not so her mother could have plastic surgery.
Mommy Meester countered by filing her own lawsuit a few days later that alleged Leighton had breached various agreements adding up to $3 million. Constance claimed she had "sacrificed her happiness" to support Leighton's acting career.
In a demurrer, Leighton now is attacking the purported agreements that form the basis of her mother's claims. Of course, the devil is in the details, so let's examine:
In her complaint, Constance presents a sob story about how she was allegedly taken advantage of by her daughter, but strip away the emotional grandstanding, and her main legal claims rest on a purported breach of management, support, and settlement agreements. What was the real nature of those agreements?
To start, one might consider whether Constance really was Leighton's manager.
In the demurrer, Leighton says the document produced as evidence of this type of relationship is merely an "employment agreement," whereby Leighton's loan-out corporation, Intentional Productions, Inc., was established to render Leighton's acting services. The document is said to give Leighton 100% of income from her activities, allowing IPI to deduct certain things like union dues, agent commissions, manager's fees, and health contributions. It doesn't explicitly provide Constance with any money.
That said, Constance was president of IPI and her signature is on the agreement. Her lawsuit so far is pretty silent on why this agreement should be interpreted as confirming Constance's role as manager, and we wonder whether Constance is suggesting she's her daughter's manager by implication. There are many problems with this theory, including whether Constance was paid and the prohibition on managers securing employment for clients, but really, the dispute boils down to authority over Leighton's income. Leighton says Constance had none.
Meanwhile, the settlement and support agreements are purported to stem from a litigation proceeding between Leighton and her former talent agency, Abrams Artist Agency. The lawsuit occurred in 2009, at which time, it's alleged that attorney Marty Singer contacted Constance to procure her testimony on behalf of her daughter, and in return for doing so, the two executed an oral agreement whereby Constance would be given $10,000 per month.
Here, Leighton argues that the supposed contract is "void" because it's illegal to bargain for testimony to win a lawsuit. It's said that Constance would have a duty to testify under subpoena, so there's no consideration.
Constance argues that these contracts can be construed as settlement agreements -- oral and implied-in-fact -- putting behind a burgeoning family feud. But Leighton attacks such a representation on multiple grounds, including the ambiguity of the terms, the absence of "reasonable reliance," the expiration of a statute of limitations, and voidance for the same reasons given above.
Perhaps our favorite reason that Leighton gives a judge to throw out this lawsuit is also the one that illustrates just how unbelievably goofy this case is.
In Constance's lawsuit, she claims to be victim to the pretty rare legal claim of "dependent adult financial abuse," meaning the traditional mother-daughter roles have been flipped: Constance supposedly is Leighton's dependent and relies upon her daughter financially.
Leighton says that Constance hasn't established that she has physical or mental limitations that would establish such was the case, but even if she did, Leighton's court papers say, "If she were a dependent adult she would require a guardian to sue on her behalf." And who might that be, Upper East Siders?

OK, that was a bit childish. And, yes, the actress is actually not in either one of those places, but rather in the Big Apple.
However, those are most certainly her unmentionables being inadvertently exposed on the Gossip Girl set.
It seems the actress was busy shooting a scene for her show when Mother Nature decided to send a little wind Blake's way to create a wee wardrobe malfunction.
And thereby reminding us why Blake is Leonardo DiCaprio's better half!
