Question: Gossip Girl‘s final season starts in less than a week, so this week’s Ask Ausiello better have something good on the premiere. Or else. —Dawn
Ausiello: Last I checked the column was called Ask Ausiello not Threaten Ausiello. Having said that, I’ll give you what you want, just promise not to hurt me or my family, K? Herewith are six mild-to-wild spoilers about Monday’s premiere:

* Someone is wearing an engagement ring by the end of the episode, but there’s a twist.
* I can confirm that the event featured in these photos is indeed a wedding, but there’s a twist.
* The show’s go-to rehab clinic, The Ostroff Center, has been renamed to reflect current events.
* Blair and Georgina’s bitchy repartee throughout the hour is a thing of immense beauty.
* Dan gives Blair a tough-love speech about her dysfunctional relationship with Chuck that literally leaves his ex speechless.
* Someone has a big secret, and that someone’s initials are BB.

PHOTOS | Gossip Girl Sneak Peek — Someone From Blair’s Past Returns!

Question: Can you share anything about the Gossip Girl series finale? —Annie
Ausiello: According to some just-leaked casting intel, the swan song will feature a cute and adorable 3-year-old boy with dark hair and eyes. You thinking what I’m thinking? ‘Cause I’m thinking that little rascal could be Chuck and Blair’s firstborn. biggrin

Showrunners 2012: ‘Gossip Girl,’ ‘Hart of Dixie’s’ Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage

From their obsessive rituals (Peppermint Patties! Oatmeal! Bruce Springsteen!) to the parts of their jobs they hate most (killing characters off, dealing with agents), TV’s most influential writer-producers featured on The Hollywood Reporter’s annual list of the Top 50 Showrunners come clean about the people, things and quirky habits that keep them — and their shows — alive.

Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage, Gossip Girl, Hart of Dixie (CW)

The show that inspired me to write:
Schwartz:The Muppet Show biggrin happy . Family Ties.

My big break:
Schwartz: My retrospective on the career of Steven Spielberg for my camp newsletter when I was seven. When you are not a gifted athlete you must find other ways to impress the campers.

My TV Mentor:
Schwartz: Bob DeLaurentiswas hired to help me run my first series, The O.C. He taught me about balancing the insanity of television with the sanity of life. Also, Stephanie Savage has taught me a ton over the years. Her taste and work ethic are simultaneously daunting and inspiring.
Savage: John McNamara, Bob DeLaurentis, Shaun Cassidy. And Josh Schwartz gave me my first script, which is the job that changed my life.

My proudest accomplishment this year:
Schwartz: That would have to be Stella, my nine-month-old daughter. Also I directed my first movie Fun Size, which comes out in October for Paramount. Both have been tremendous experiences for growth and learning. Only one requires diaper changing at 6:30 in the morning.
Savage: Gossip Girl finishing, The Carrie Diaries starting and our movie Fun Size coming out — all in the same week.

My toughest scene to write this year:
Savage: The final scene of Gossip Girl. Tears make it hard to see the keyboard.

My most absurd note I’ve ever gotten:
Schwartz: Pitching the pilot story of [NBC’s] Chuck to a network executive who just looked at me when I finished and said, “Why would you want to write that?”
Savage: “Could one of them be a cop/doctor/lawyer?” Writing serial dramas, we actually get that a lot.

The aspect of my job as showrunner that I’d rather delegate:
Schwartz: I am a firm believer that the key to surviving showrunning is delegating. On all our Fake Empire shows, we have incredible showrunners in place who are passionate, talented and surrounded by good people.
Savage: Anything that requires appearing in front of the camera.

My preferred method for breaking through writers’ block:
Schwartz: Asking someone else to write it. cool
Savage: Writers’ block is not really an option when you’re shooting eight pages a day, five days a week, nine months a year.

The show I’m embarrassed to admit I watch:
Schwartz: I make teen dramas, I’m not embarrassed to admit I watch anything. cool
Savage: I don’t believe in “guilty” pleasure. MSNBC’s Lockup, My Big Fat Gypsy Wedding, every single show on Discovery ID — if it feels good, do it.

The three things you need in order to write:
Schwartz: An idea, some time and the knowledge that failing to deliver could result in a network airing color bars.
Savage: I’ve written with a broken wrist, with pneumonia. I finished a script sitting at a bus stop on Banff Avenue during a snow storm. So long as I have headphones, a playlist and my laptop, I’m good.

If I could scrub one credit from your resume, it would it be:
Schwartz: I think the healthy answer to this is they have all been learning experiences.
Savage: None. You fall in love with everything you make. happy -

The last season of Gossip Girl is coming up. Have you filmed the final episode yet?
No, we’re filming the 8th episode on Tuesday and there are 10 episodes, so I have three more episodes.

That’s exciting. Do you feel any trepidation approaching the last episode?
No. I think at first when I started the season, I was like, Oh my god, this is going to be strange, but I think it’s going to be good. I’m happy and I feel like everyone who watches is probably going to be happy. And it’s just time. I think personally I’ve grown a lot. I started when I was 21, and I’m 26 now, so I’ve grown. It’s familiar and comfortable, but it’s time to change that. And creatively more than anything is where I’ve felt the need to expand. It’s going to be very strange. It’s funny how that’s been my destiny over the bulk of my 20s—to do that show in New York. I remember being 12 and being like, I’m going to go to New York and buy flowers to put in the basket of my bicycle and live in the West Village! That’s what I thought was going to happen.

Do you know how you want Blair to end up?
Ya, in a show people go, “I really like you romantically involved with that person” and it sort of influences how you see it and I think how the writers have been seeing it. People like Chuck and Blair together so they’re gonna be like, “We’re going to make them end up together.” I mean, I don’t know, I never get to know what’s happening and they’re keeping it a secret.

What do you think you’ll miss the most about being on set and being involved in that project?
The people. But I know I’ll be able to see them again because everyone is just going to get new jobs. Like when I did this movie I worked with a bunch of the same people, the sound people and stuff. I see those people more than my own family. I think I’m just really excited because it’s like the last six years of my life have been determined by the schedule of Gossip Girl. I get two weeks at Christmas because that’s how much time we have.

What are your post-Gossip Girl plans?
I mean, this was an amazing experience and if I can do movies where I feel this good from now on I would like to do that. Obviously I don’t want to play the same characters again, like a rich spoiled girl. I just want to be uncomfortable and in unfamiliar places.
I think that’s it, unless you want to talk about Blake Lively’s wedding.
Are you from Canada?

Yes! How did you know?
Your accent.

Can you comment at all on Blake’s wedding?
I think they don’t want to talk about it.

We’re not allowed. I had to ask!
I know, I know, everyone has to ask.

No matter who sleeps with whom on the sixth and final season of “Gossip Girl,” fans of the series will be happy about one development.

“We’re bringing back the headbands,” costume designer Eric Daman told The Daily. “It’s almost as if they have some sort of supernatural power.”

The show’s fashion godfather, an alum of “Sex and the City,” said the last season, which premieres Monday, will be like “Gossip Girl 2.0.”

“We’ll be bringing back little elements of who we fell in love with in season one,” he teased.

Bidding farewell to the Upper East Side is “bittersweet,” Daman said, especially after bonding with Blake Lively, whom he helped make into a front-row designer darling.

“When I first met her, she wasn’t aware of designers. She was kind of like Cinderella, starry-eyed in front of all of the shoes,” he reminisced. “She’s done a great job growing into herself. I’m proud to help her.”

Next up for Daman is costumes for the CW’s “Sex and the City” prequel, “The Carrie Diaries,” debuting in January.

“We’ve been to Forever 21 and H&M and Urban Outfitters and Top Shop,” he said. “[The Carrie Bradshaw character]’s not going to be a tricked-out fashionista — yet.”

NATE (Chace Crawford)
Once a messy schoolboy and now a digital newspaper editor, Nate “is really into great Rag & Bone suits,” Daman said. “We bought back the blue palette for him. It always makes Chace’s eyes look amazing.”

BLAIR (Leighton Meester)
“Remember when Blair was this majestic schoolgirl reigning on The Met steps?” Daman said. This time her headbands will be “mature” (no bows!) and she’ll rock Prada prints. “There will be a grown-up feel.”

SERENA (Blake Lively)
Bad girl Serena is “going back to the short skirts that remind me of her little schoolgirl kilt,” Daman spilled. Expect her in a yellow Jenny Packham gown on Monday’s premiere: “Blake fell in love.”

DAN (Penn Badgley)
“He was that hipster doofus that made you say, ‘Is that ironic or is he really wearing that?’” Daman said of Dan, now a prolific writer sporting cashmere v-necks for an “intellectual, French film-noir feel.”

CHUCK (Ed Westwick)
“People are obsessed with Chuck,” Daman said. So he’s giving the people what they want: bow ties, plaid and “brutish, Wall Street” suits. “All of his outfits are tailored especially for him,” Daman said.
