Charlie is a non-entity and my suspicions on Georgina is that if indeed she comes back to fuck with Dan, Blair will cut her.

Aside from that, the show had Chuck call Dan a "prole" (who even says that?) for proletariat. Blair and Epperly talked about how Dan wasn't "worthy." Blair said Dan should stick with a job more in line with his "breeding." Dorota called Dan "lowly boy" and Chuck says Dan doesn't belong "in our world."

I know the show has always drawn these kinds of class distinctions, but they seem more loaded to me this year, and I think that they emphasized the whole lowly/not part of our world thing in 4x18 could be important; last year 3x18 set up the finale. We already know the idea of Chuck being a child will play out in the finale when Chuck becomes Charles and there's a bar mitzvah. So I think the idea that Dan is lowly, doesn't belong in the UES world, that he's a toad -- I think all of that could be important too.

I'm biased, obviously, and maybe I've absorbed too much from Caitie's parallel posts, but Dan and Louis have constantly crossed parallels all season - visually, context, and dialogue wise, whereas the only Chuck parallel is the Henry Prince thing (and that the show refers to him as a prince sometimes). Chuck feels like the odd one out, on top of having all that disgusting CB history as baggage. (Also, didn't we already see Chuck in a similar setup in S2 with Nate as Louis the fairytale, and Chuck in Dan's role as the 'make your own fairytale' guy? Why repeat the same thing but throw in Dan to be treated like some bloody irrelevant carcass of a prop? It makes no sense...but then it is GG after all. Grrr.)

That would suck major balls. How awful would the whole powerful woman arc of Blair's be if she ends up needing Chuck to give her permission to date? WTF? What kind of a message is that? You can be a powerful woman, only if your abusive ex lets you have it? Not to mention Chuck would be all involved in the beginning of DB as a couple. He'll taint them with his suckage.

Ugh. I think I'd hate it as much as I would a CB reunion.

ETA: I think in the Dair character thread RL/DB are talked about. I definitely noticed it as I was watching the older seasons during the hiatus. Random: There's a funny visual parallel I noticed - I forget which episode, but it's S3 - where Lily's wearing a pink dress in the study room, and Rufus and Lily talk and kiss there (though the camera angle is different, so it's not the same part of the room we see) which reminded me of the second DB kiss from the promos.
