The Upper East Siders are scattered around the world when Gossip Girl returns for its sixth season, but they're all brought together on a common mission.
Around the Globe. When the episode begins, Blair is in Paris working on her fashion line, while Chuck is in Dubai investigating his father. Nate, meanwhile, is back home in New York running The Spectator, while Georgina and Dan are in Tuscany working on his new book. But the group is called back together when Lily returns home from the Hamptons with Bart and learns that Serena has been missing all summer. More disturbing is the fact that she was last spotted passed out on a train.
Chair vs. Dair. Blair chose Chuck in the season 5 finale and we get to see a flashback to the two of them in bed together after reuniting in Monte Carlo. But, as I mentioned, they're apart when the episode opens. It turns out they've made an arrangement to focus on their own respective goals (Blair's fashion empire and Chuck's determination to prove himself to his father) before reuniting. How does Dan react when he hears the news? Not too well.
Serena's New Life. The gang does eventually track down Serena, who is now calling herself Sabrina and living with a man named Steven. She is absolutely not happy that her old life and friends have tracked her down because, as she explains, she's determined to start anew. Of course, her old life is exposed in a big way when delightful misunderstandings occur at a garden party.
Nate's Mission. Nate is still on a mission to expose Gossip Girl, even having prepared an exposé story with only one crucial piece missing: Gossip Girl's real identity. Meanwhile, he gets a visitor and a new girlfriend in the form of Sage, a journalism student who stops by to interview him for class.
Rufus' New Ally. Lily gets a shock when she heads over to Rufus' Brooklyn loft to find out if he's seen Serena and discovers that Charlie has been living there since her glorious fall from society. She's disgusted, believing that the two of them are in a relationship, but Rufus is adamant that he's just lending Charlie a helping hand. Of course, the big question is: 'can Rufus trust Charlie?'
