PREVIOUSLY ON... | Blair tracked Chuck down in Monte Carlo in the hopes of reconciling, a broken Serena left town in a haze of sex and drugs, Nate asked Lola to move in with him and Rufus and Lily went their separate ways.
COMING UP NEXT | After a brief opening act to tie up some of the loose ends from last May's cliffhanger, the show's final 10-episode season jumps forward four months and promptly launches into a new mystery. "Serena is missing," reveals exec producer Stephanie Savage. "No one has heard from her, not even Gossip Girl. She's truly off the map. So the gang has to get together to try and find her." S eventually resurfaces on the arm of a new, more mature beau, played by 7th Heaven vet Barry Watson. "He lets Serena be herself," notes Savage, "which is something that she really needs right now." Blair, meanwhile, finally realizes she needs Chuck — and vice versa. "They now understand what it would mean for them to be together," says exec producer Sara Goodman, adding that they first have to figure out "what they need as separate people" before they can fully commit. The main theme of the season is "adulthood," says Savage. "High school is long in the past and they're thinking about who they want to be and how they want to be."
TVLINE BONUS SPOILER | Although she won't technically be a series regular, Michelle Trachtenberg will have a bigger presence as Georgina than in any previous season.

Ed Westwick Reveals: There’s ‘Hope’ For Chuck & Blair On ‘Gossip Girl’

We’ve been counting down the days for the season 6 premiere of Gossip Girl ever since Chuck (Ed Westwick) and Blair (Leighton Meester) placed a bet on their love in Monte Carlo! And luckily for Chair fans, that bet may end up in their favor!
HollywoodLife.com caught up EXCLUSIVELY with Ed, 25, who revealed that there is hope for a much-anticipated Chairytale ending.
“There’s definitely hope,” he told HollywoodLife.com at the Style Awards. “We get pretty close. I can’t really say anything else.”
The British boy who plays the handsome Chuck Bass also said it will be bittersweet when the series finally comes to an end.
“I think it’s sad. I’m going to miss everyone I work with, but I think everything good must come to an end,” he said.
And of course he’ll miss his devoted Chair fans! When asked if he had one message for them, he said he just really wants to say “thank you.” “Just to say a very huge thank you.
It’s of course been incredible. We keep seeing people out on the streets in New York and New York’s been a real home for us. It’s been a real home for me being from England and just to see an appreciation for what we do it means the world to us, so thanks,” he told HollywoodLife.com. Aww! Well, we’re happy to hear there’s hope for Chuck and Blair and that he’ll miss his fellow cast members and fans!

'Gossip Girl' Season 6: Check out Chuck and Blair's hot and heavy sex session and Serena's very bad day
In case there were ever any doubts that "Gossip Girl's" will-they-won't-they couple most definitely will in the upcoming final season -- rest assured, Chair fans. Chuck and Blair have a very, very hot and heavy makeout session in the Oct. 8 season premiere... that is, if it doesn't turn out to be a dream.
The Canadian "Gossip Girl" marketing team tends to be a bit more liberal with the spoilers when assembling their promos, and this week, a Canadian TV show aired an intense clip that featured Leighton Meester and Ed Westwick in a passionate embrace that goes on, and on, and on. (Seriously, we kept waiting for it to fade to black, and it didn't.) Meester's got a whole lot of exposed skin, while Westwick keeps his shirt on -- probably to cover the actor's many tattoos that Chuck Bass would never, ever get.
The trailer also features Blair crying out "My god!" and then some naked, sweaty panting, before she says, "Do that again," and, of course, Chuck gears up for round two. Even us die-hard Dair fans have to admit that it's basically the hottest scene "Gossip Girl" has ever had.
Things definitely don't look quite so fun for Serena (Blake Lively), who is found passed out on a train with a bloody nose, because she's classy like that. You can check out the promo below, but we'll warn you -- the quality leaves a lot to be desired.
Basically, "Gossip Girl" is turning up the heat big time for its final 10 episodes. This isn't Constance Billard anymore, ladies and gents.
