составитель рекапов шиппил Дэир ))) http://nowhitenoise.com/2012....ehh-erm

Аnd now it’s time for what I’ve promised (and for some reason, people care). Who knew the series finale of Gossip Girl and this post would parallel so much. I am your Dan Humphrey, which is to say I am the worst and am a clinical sociopath and that this is so not a big deal. What in the world? (Can’t wait til people have a field day with that.) Anyway, after a year or so of people telling me to just reveal it already or I’ll regret keeping it in so long and those saying I should never reveal…

I ship(ped) Dan and Blair.

It’s the truth. And though I hope half of you didn’t just run away and never come back, I can understand why. People take their ships seriously, apparently. I even contemplated not “ruining” this post by talking about it. I’m sure that by now some are retroactively finding evidence of all the bad things I said about Chuck and Blair, or connecting something that’s a completely unrelated joke as a way to bash a ship. But the truth is that I don’t dislike Chuck and Blair in any way. Some people may not understand that or won’t believe me, but I can’t do more than just say it and hope you will. And now to answer some questions I’m sure I’ll get. I’ll try to be as pithy as possible.

In season 1, I rooted for Dan & Serena and Chuck & Blair, but that being said I was never a religious watcher. If I had found my true TV love Chuck (the show) earlier, I probably never would have seen an episode. I was a huge fan of the Dan and Blair friendship. Personally, it gave the show new life. I can however understand people not liking them romantically, which I didn’t either. When Dan and Blair kissed it seemed so out of the blue to me, as I was enjoying their slow burn. I didn’t think it would ever turn into that. I’m aware of what little sense it makes. And so I viewed it as such a dissonant image.

And yet it made so much sense, too. When the show returned and Blair had decided that she felt zero potential romance between them, something grew inside me after her reaction. I don’t why or what, but I didn’t agree with her. And I was mad that the show had done that just to take away the potential. I began finding little, tiny evidence(s) of why she was lying. And just like that, I started to become an actual shipper (it wouldn’t fully happen until fall) — which is to say, I lost all logic and/or reasoning, like any shipper – for Dair. When season 5 began, and I began doing recaps, I found Tumblr. And I would spend time in the #Dair tag. Yes, I became a 13-year-old girl. It was quite embarrassing. This had only happened to me once before (for Chuck and Sarah, the coincidence!).

There’s no denying that season 5 was a major s— show. If it weren’t for the fact that I was recapping them, I seriously most likely would have quit. I wasn’t even planning to watch weekly until the recaps took off (I was a week late when I began, but I watched all those episodes on the same day). And I won’t concede that the reason I like the back half of the season more than the first half is solely because of Dair. I mean, I think episode 5×10 is the best from the front half. But it wasn’t until 5×14 or 5×15 that the story actually started going anywhere. Louis was awful and a waste of time. And the same is true for season 6. It wasn’t until 6×06 or so until the story actually picked up. But, yeah, maybe my shipper half clouded my judgement.

If you want to ask if I’m mad that Dair didn’t end up together: I’m not. I never expected them to, except maybe when I was in a feels panic during mid season 5. Then again, I never could have expected Dan and Serena together after all of season 5… and season 6. But regardless, I don’t know when I knew Gossip Girl was The Chuck and Blair Show, but the season 2 finale where “Season Of Love” played in the background seems like a good way to mark a point in time when it was cemented. In a series where everyone is the worst, do they deserve each other? Maybe. Everyone deserves everyone on this show. Except maybe no one deserves Nate; that’s probably why he ended up alone. But he’s only the least worst because of his naiveté.

And that’s that. I won’t go into extreme detail about why I like one couple more than the other, because there really aren’t any reasons. Personally, it’s just chemistry to me. I see it, others see it, and others don’t. And that’s fine. Believe me, the last thing I want is to get into a war. That’s why I’m shutting off my phone and computer for 123891230 hours beginning NOW. The show’s over… and we’re all free!

FREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!

This is also somewhat of an actual goodbye, because the series is over and a lot of people are going to leave for good, if not for what I just wrote then because they have no interest in anything else. I hope you enjoyed poking fun of this show. I came in at a golden age of recapping it, and I’m glad I did. Thanks for sticking around week to week and sharing laughs. And if you’re leaving and never coming back, I will never forget youuuuuu!!! I’ve made some great Internet friendships from sides of all different ship wars. And I hope it remains that way, because you guys are awesome! Thank you to everyone. Much love!

love

полное интервью:

Chuck and Blair were "always" endgame.
Dan was almost (accidentally) revealed as Gossip Girl in the very first episode.
Jack and Georgina totally would have been a thing if the scheduling worked out.
And Jenny Humphrey's supercool job in the future was revealed—but you may have missed it!
Find Out Everything That Happened in our Gossip Girl Finale Recap!
We just got off the phone with executive producer Stephanie Savage to ask our lingering questions about last night's series finale of Gossip Girl. So if you are a fan, we highly recommend you read the following Q&A, which also reveals why Lily didn't end up with Rufus, and where Vanessa is now…
"Henry Bass" was trending on Twitter. How hard was it to find a kid who looked so much like Leighton and Ed?
We had a few good contenders, but Alex who played Henry, was just like if you made computer program of what Chuck and Blair's kid would look like he would come out. We loved it.
When did you know that Chuck and Blair were endgame? I think it was a conversation up until the end of last season among all the writers. We wanted to write a season-five finale that would point us in the right direction. But for me and Josh Schwartz, we always felt that those guys were endgame for each other. Always.
Gossip Girl costume designer Eric Daman reveals his favorite Blair looks
Some people were upset that Lily and Rufus didn't end up together. William is pretty much a doofus….
When you think about the core of Lily's character, she really tried to make it work with Rufus but at the end of the day, that was too hard for her. Bart Bass was a little bit too psychotic and William kind of split the difference. William is going to let her enjoy her teacup full of gin and be as much like her mother as she's likely going to become. Rufus and Lily, that was something that was great about the Dan and Serena wedding, was that Rufus and Lily are now connected to each other forever through their children. It was important that you felt they had a very loving, warm bond and that everybody was happy.
Did you always know Gossip Girl would be Dan? Were there any other names tossed out?
We never really entertained any other ideas of who Gossip Girl was. It was whether we were going to reveal it. Interestingly, in the pilot episode, the test audience thought that Dan was Gossip Girl. We actually had to re-edit one of our sequences. It's when he's on the computer looking at Gossip Girl, the way it was edited that he was typing as the voice was coming up, people thought that they were being told that he was Gossip Girl. So we actually had to re-edit that sequence.
Some fans have a lot of questions about why Dan did certain things…
We could have made the show two hours long with just Rufus drilling Dan about all of those things. What about this time and what about that other time? Wait, you wrote this about yourself?! My hope is that people who are really curious about that can go back and rewatch the season and get their brains going.
Blake Lively's 10 Best Looks Ever on Gossip Girl
How hard was it to keep the cameos [Lisa Loeb, Rachel Bilson, Mayor Bloomberg] a secret?
We were so happy that none of them got out. With Mayor Bloomberg, were able to shoot in the city when he was available. It was all very dramatic with him coming in the back door so the paparazzi wouldn't see him and we shot inside. Jessica [Szohr] was in town for a movie. She did her cameo on the set of Carrie Diaries and it's Carrie Bradshaw's '80s kitchen she's standing in. And Rachel Bilson and Kristen Bell shot on the set of Hart of Dixie. We didn't send dailies out, we didn't send out to international partners, we didn't send the last two acts to anyone. We really tried to control spoilers.
The paparazzi got wedding photos of Chuck and Blair and Dan and Serena. Was that expected or were you disappointed that happened?
The Chuck and Blair wedding, we knew as soon as we stepped outside, it would be captured by the paparazzi. But Dan and Serena, that was really disappointing and upsetting. We worked really hard to dress Blake inside, she kept away from the windows. It was a locked set. But somebody either paid someone to get into the apartment across the street, or used a fire escape and used a telephoto lens, and that really upset me because I didn't want anyone to know. I wanted that to be a surprise for fans.
Where can we start a petition for a spinoff with Jack and Georgina? Did you consider doing a whole storyline with them earlier?
Always. We always talked about them being in some ways the male and female versions of each other and perfect for each other. We love Desmond [Harrington]. We have to work around his Dexter schedule which means we only got him for one episode this season. And then we realized that Jack and Georgina had never met, and so we had the opportunity to have a fun little pilot story where it's just slight but getting them together for the first time, which was super fun.

Did Nate end up with anyone?
I think for at least our five-year flash forward, Nate is single and focused on work. And that Dan giving him the Gossip Girl exclusive is kind of what he needed to jumpstart the Spectator. And he's been able to focus on that. Not have any business partners or distracting girlfriends and become very focused and successful.
Where's Jenny in five years?
I always loved the idea that Blair would reach out to Jenny and have her become a part of Waldorf Designs. When Jenny is running up the stairs to Dan and Serena's wedding, she's using a "J by Waldorf" shopping bag. So it happened.
Where do you see Vanessa?
Vanessa's doing something very successful in her own world. Maybe she's directing an episode of season five of Carrie Diaries.
Get the latest scoop on Homeland straight from the show's executive producers
We know Serena ended up with Dan, but where is she professionally?
Serena is a powerful force in the New York social scene. We saw a glimpse this year of her philanthropic powers. Her ability to raise money and get behind causes, and that's probably what she's doing.
Why did you use the final song of Sex and the City finale as your final finale song?
It's not the final song. It's our penultimate song. It's Florence and the Machine covering that Source song. It was that moment of joy and closure and really feel like the show was ending and then start it back up again. After that song ends and we pull out of the window of our townhouse, "Kill Me" by Pretty Reckless, Taylor Momsen's band, comes up, and we're back out in the street with a new crop of kids and the voice of Gossip Girl is back.
Finale note: Whatever your feelings about the past few seasons of Gossip Girl, you gotta admit, the finale last night was pretty dang close to perfection. Chuck and Blair didn't just end up together—they had TV's most adorable son. The surprise cameos were miraculously kept secret, and squeal-worthy. And the big, show-ending reveal of Gossip Girl's identity—one Mr. Dan Humphrey (Penn Badgley)—somehow seemed to make perfect sense, allowing for one heck of a happy ending.

Slow clap to Stephanie and the entire Gossip Girl crew….We loved it. XOXO

март 2010, когда ты еще шоу не видела:

Question:Is something going to happen between Dan and Blair on Gossip Girl? Or were you just pulling our legs? —Janice
Ausiello: Maybe a little of both? I asked executive producer Stephanie Savage about the possibility of a Dan/Blair hook-up down the line, and here’s what she said: “There are only so many combinations [you can explore] on the show, so I think you have to be open to all of them at some point. So, certainly, we have an open mind when it comes to them… Those two are really gold when they’re together. They have great on-screen chemistry.”

Question: I need some scoop on Gossip Girl. More importantly, good news about Chuck/Blair. —Vanessa
Ausiello: I’m going to let executive producer Stephanie Savage take this one. “The good news about Chuck and Blair is that when we come back [on March 8] they’ve got a really incredible run with each other. They’re [involved] in a very emotional storyline regarding the mystery lady at Bart’s grave. They solve that mystery together and it’s a great example of Chuck and Blair working together and being very emotionally supportive of each other.”
Question: Is it true that Chuck and Blair break up again on Gossip Girl? —Mary
Ausiello: I will neither confirm nor deny that particular rumor on the grounds that it’s too spoilery. Besides, it’s also kind of a non-issue since any Chuck/Blair break-up will undoubtedly be followed by a reunion at some point. Isn’t that right, Stephanie Savage? “We really feel like those guys are made for each other,” she tells me. “But it’s not going to be an easy ride because of their personalities and their dynamic. It’s our job to throw some good obstacles in their path, but we always root for them to find their way back to each other.”

Gossip Girl " is back tonight after yet another strangely-timed hiatus. Thought I'd remind you of its return with a little "GG" Q&A, answers courtesy of exec producer Stephanie Savage...
Have the "Gossip Girl" producers read all the "Gossip Girl" books? I'm curious to know how familiar they are with them. -Kris
Savage told me they read most of the books. And they got familiar with the stories in the ones they skipped by studying summaries. As fans of both the books and the show already know though, the producers are on their own path: "A lot of the stories we're telling are not in the books whatsoever -- the whole Chuck and Blair romance [for example] -- so there's not a lot of material we can draw on. [The show] has to grow and expand and be its own thing."
Everyone's all about Chuck-Blair/Blair-Nate blah blah blah. What about Jenny and Nate? I thought they were great together. Will we ever see them reunited? -Christina
Sounds like it. Just not anytime soon. Said Savage, "Nate and Jenny is actually a really big story in the books and we sort of dipped our toe into that pool a few times. As the characters get older and start to feel the same age, that is definitely material I think we can revisit."
There's no way all the "Gossip Girl" kids would end up staying in NYC after high school graduation. Please tell me that's not going to happen. -Deborah
I read this question to Stephanie and she responded by saying, "Well, New York is a pretty big city." Personally, I think they should let Dan go off to Yale. We can see him every now and then when he comes home to visit or when Jenny goes down to Connecticut for college debauchery weekends with big brother... but somehow I doubt that'll happen. Still, Savage ensures there will for sure be changes: "It really is kind of a major -- and I think very exciting -- reconfiguration of the show, to leave high school behind and to allow all of our characters to reinvent themselves outside of that construct. They'll [discover] what it means to kind of be a part of the bigger world, so you can expect to see new couples, new family configurations, people living in different places than you last saw them. We're having a lot of fun thinking about that... keep everything that everyone loves [about "Gossip Girl"], but also really kind of move everyone forward as well."
Is Vanessa going to school next year? Will she continue her education? -Cat
Savage said we'll have to wait and see, but she also said, don't forget, Vanessa took her SATs.
Any more major "Gossip Girl" deaths I should expect? -Jesse
Nah. Stephanie doesn't see that happening. "I think we have a pretty tight cast and I think we would only be interested in adding, not subtracting."
More Dorota please. -Jennifer
Not to worry, Savage said they knew Dorota was a super star straight away and will continue writing for her. Were you aware that the actress who plays her, Zuzanna Szadkowski, actually speaks Polish, so the producers decide what they want Dorota to say and then rely on Zuzanna to translate it for her character's lines?
On "Gossip Girl" I need to know, will Dan and Blair ever be romantically involved? -Petra
The producers aren't opposed to it. When I questioned Stephanie about a Dan-Blair pairing, she said, "There are only so many characters on our show, so everyone needs to be open to being with everyone at some point."

Greetings, Gossip Girl fans, Lindsay here. I recently had a dish session with GG producer and writer Stephanie Savage (who's also an O.C. alum) about the process of bringing the popular book series to the small screen. It was no small task, and S admits — much to the dismay of many of you riled fans out there — that some adjustments had to be made. Either way, she promises this season (continuing Wednesdays at 9 p.m. on The CW) is only getting juicier. You know you love her.

ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY: How closely do the writers work with author Cecily von Ziegesar?
STEPHANIE SAVAGE: We didn't really work with Cecily on the script specifically, but I went to New York to do research for the show, and I had a great afternoon with Cecily where we met for lunch at Barney's and then she walked me through her old neighborhood. And we spent about four or five hours just talking about her world, because a lot of the stuff in the book is based on her own experience.... It's been really collaborative and really positive. I think she's pretty happy with where we ended up on it.

How many of the books have you read?
When we started out, Josh and I had only read the first book.

Have you read others since then?
Yeah, I'm working my way through all 11, and we just got the prequel, which I'm very excited about.

When you guys were first coming up with the script, did you sit down with the first book and say, ''Okay, we're going to take this as a base, but riff from there''? Or did you want to stay as similar to the books as possible, but later decide to go in a different direction?
We fell in love with a lot of the stuff that was in the book. I think the core characters are very similar in the two, and Gossip Girl and her voice carries over in both. Josh [Schwartz, co-producer on Gossip Girl and O.C. creator] and I both thought that was a great hook that we were very excited about. So we started from a place of wanting to honor the characters and the world and the tone of the book, and then we had to ask ourselves as writers and working in a different medium, what changes we thought we had to make in order to make it a successful television show.

One of the immediate changes I noticed on the show was that the character of Jenny Humphrey (played by Taylor Momsen) doesn't have the big chest that she was best known for in the books.
We made a point of not writing Jenny's large chest into the script because we just felt we would be saddling — quite literally — a young actress with something that would prove to be difficult over time. Either we had to limit our casting pool to young actresses with enormous chests, or we would be asking a 14- or 15-year-old girl to go to work every day with a giant padded bra or chicken cutlets in her bra, and it didn't sit well with either of us. When we met Taylor, we just felt she was so interesting, and she brought another layer to Jenny in the way that she had a kind of intelligence and danger to her, in addition to being naïve and sweet and wanting to be a part of this world. You also felt like she could go All About Eve on Blair's ass any moment.

Why did you put the Humphrey family in Williamsburg, a Brooklyn neighborhood, instead of on the Upper West Side, where they live in the novels?
We felt that for the vast majority of Americans, the difference between the Upper East Side and the Upper West Side was a little bit too subtle to try to grasp. So we talked about making them a downtown family, and then we were like, you know, the new downtown is Brooklyn, so we put them there.

Another change I wanted to ask about was making Eric (played by Connor Paolo) younger. Was that just to add another dimension to the character?
We wanted to have a better reason for Serena [Eric's sister and Gossip Girl's protagonist, played by Blake Lively] to come home from boarding school. In the book, she comes home just because she was partying all summer and missed the beginning of classes and gets kicked out. But we felt like if we were bringing her back into this world, we wanted her to be a sympathetic heroine, and having her help someone in her family felt like that was a good place to start.

Is it ever going to come out on the show how much of a party animal Serena was before boarding school?
We're definitely going to show some flashbacks to old Serena. You'll actually see the first of those in our Thanksgiving episode. We want to have fun with that, but we also wanted to be careful — it was really important to us that the Serena who came back from boarding school had had some kind of an epiphany, that she understood it was wrong to sleep with her best friend's boyfriend, and she was really going to make an effort to try and be different.

I heard that the Vanessa character is going to be making an appearance soon.
Yes, Vanessa [played by Jessica Szohr] starts in our sixth episode. Our Vanessa is fairly different in terms of her presentation: She doesn't have a shaved head — which I think die-hard fans of the book will probably be upset about — and she's not really punk-rock, but she fulfills the same role in Dan's life of being his long-time best friend. There's a little bit of sexual chemistry there, and she's someone who keeps Dan grounded in his outsider perspective — she's very critical of the Upper East Side world that he's slowly getting pulled into.

What do you want to say to the avid GG book fans who complain about the tweaked characters and plotlines on the TV show?
I think that one's a book and one's a TV show — you have to write for the medium you are in. In television, a lot of the stories need to be more emotionally grounded. The books also have a longer reset period between them, so you can jump over big story issues between books, whereas with television, viewers kind of expect continuity between the episodes. It would be very jarring for people if Serena and [her best friend] Blair [played by Leighton Meester] got into a giant fight in the first episode, but in the second episode they were friends again and we never explained why. So I think you just have to deal with different expectations of the medium that you're working in, and you also have to be free as a writer. The series has 11 books in it right now, but God willing, we're hoping to make 100 episodes. So you have to be able to find characters that, as a writer, you can just really dig into and live with and put a part of yourself in, and try to update them too. I think Cecily went to school in the '80s, and the books were written in the early 2000s, and there's certain things that might have worked in the books that maybe don't feel like they're going to work now.
