вот еще новое интервью с EW
Jarrett, Ed and Dair… and nothing hurts!

Insider: This year, Louis was brought into the action, but for fans, the true love triangle has been between Chuck, Blair and Dan. Did you see that coming?
Ed: It’s been a little out of left field. Penn Badgley’s cute, so I get it [laughs]. It’s an interesting dynamic because that’s a complete 180 from what she likes about Chuck. The whole situation is infuriating for Chuck because he just wants to shake her and say “What are you thinking?!?!” But he can’t. It’s not his style. He’s got to be cool, calm and meticulous about his approach. I don’t know which way it’s going to go – and that’s the thing. We’ve got one more year on our contracts, which will see the show out, and I’m as invested in the relationship as well. I want to know how it ends.

Insider: The idea of soulmates has been thrown around a lot with Chuck and Blair. Is that how you see them?
Ed: Yes, that’s what I feel. But I think Chuck needs to get out of the house because I would not behave in this way whatsoever [laughs]. I would tell him, “There are other people, sort yourself out – you have a lot going for yourself. You’re a good-looking guy with a lot of money, there are other women out there.” I mean, Blair is hard work. But .. she’s really good in the sack! [laughs]

Insider: Looking ahead, you have Blair’s wedding and the show’s 100th episode. What are you excited for fans to see that’s coming up?
Ed: First of all, 100 episodes is such an achievement — I almost can’t believe we got here. I’m excited for fans to see the wedding – it’s huge and amazing. You’ve never seen a more gorgeous bride than Blair. She’s stunning. There’s a lot going on in terms of this whole Blair & Dan thing – this is where I feel Chuck is losing the battle. There’s a few approaches and he keeps shooting blanks. I don’t know if he’s going to make a late surge. It’s kind of like the Republican nomination – I think Dan is Mitt Romney. Chuck is Santorum — which is better than being Rick Perry.

'Gossip Girl' Boss Talks Blair's Surprising Pregnancy, Elizabeth Hurley's Agenda and a Big 100th Episode (Q&A)
'Gossip Girl' Goes Hollywood in Extended Promo (Video)
[Warning: If you have not watched Monday's episode, please do not read further. Major spoilers ahead.]
Back from holiday break, Gossip Girl kept things in high gear for the Upper East Siders in its winter return. Not only was the aftermath of Blair and Chuck's explosive car crash finally revealed, but the fate of Blair's baby (gone), her impending wedding to Louis (still on), Chuck's death (and subsequent resurrection) and the identity of the accident's true target, Nate, all came to a boil -- the latter prompting a potential team-up with Gossip Girl of past.

The episode, "The End of the Affair?," also introduced the real Charlotte Rhodes into the picture, something Gossip Girl executive producer Josh Safran teased to The Hollywood Reporter in October would happen eventually, saw Dan working on a second book and thrust Serena as New York City's new Gossip Girl. Also, Dan and Serena -- and heck, Dan and Blair -- found themselves in familiar territory.
Safran gave THR the lowdown on what Blair, Serena, Chuck, Nate, Dan and the rest of the gang should expect in the coming weeks after Monday's tide-turning episode.
The Hollywood Reporter: Blair seems to be entering into a new phase, especially with her spirituality. How long will that last?
Josh Safran: Blair very much believes that this pact she has made with the powers responsible for saving Chuck, she will move forward with that belief undeterred. When we started the season, we talked very much about works that were meaningful to us and inspired us and some of the works that came out of that conservation were The Talented Mr. Ripley and The End of the Affair. We knew from the very beginning we were going to tell a story much like the Charlie/Ivy story has been inspired by The Talented Mr. Ripley. Blair's always had faith, in all different ways, whether it's faith that someday my prince will come or faith that she went to confession in season 1. The sacrifice she's making is for the greater good of the man that she loves.

THR: But it's more significant than in previous episodes or seasons ...
Safran: Belief is a very powerful thing. When people have it, it's very strong and very deep. This is definitely that for Blair.
THR: The episode revealed that Nate was possibly the target in the car accident that hospitalized Blair and Chuck. How will that resolve itself?
Safran: That will actually play out in the next episode actually, believe it or not. Nate will discover just why he was a target. It definitely is a culmination of a major story for Nate and sends him off in a new direction.
THR: The real Charlotte Rhodes (aka Charlie) is revealed at the end of the episode. How will her presence affect the Charlie imposter Ivy and everyone connected?
Safran: The real Charlotte Rhodes is unaware, obviously, of Lily and Rufus. The three of them don't understand what's happening, but the real Charlotte Rhodes will continue to be on the outskirts of this world, sort of unknowingly, for the foreseeable future.
PHOTOS: 17 New Shows Premiering in 2012
THR: Dan and Blair pulled one over their friends, who thought there might have been something going on. Any meat to that in coming episodes?
Safran: The first half of the season was a romantic triangle between Chuck, Blair and Louis. That triangle definitely becomes a square: Dan firmly plants himself on the battlefield. [In regards to Dan writing the wedding vows, it] doesn't mean Blair finds that out.
THR: Dan is working on a second book. Anything to be gleaned from that?
Safran: The second book is a primary part of the second part of the season. The book that Dan is going to write next is harder for him to discover than the last one. Someone intervenes in an unlikely fashion.
THR: There was a period of time that passed after the accident. Will Blair still deal with the loss of her baby throughout the season?
Safran: We were conscious of course to give a time jump in the episode. Obviously Blair very much mourns in that episode and she will continue to mourn, but we wanted to get a little bit of distance from the actual event. What Blair is going through is very, very painful and to watch that is also very, very painful. She's also trying to come to grips with it. She might let loose a little more than she normally would at her bachelorette party -- and someone might take advantage.
THR: Serena and Dan embark on their pretend relationship. What's their future?
Safran: That fake relationship may come to mean more, not be fake, to at least one of them. If not, both.
THR: Gossip Girl isn't heard from until the very end. What does this mean for Serena, who was unofficially anointed the replacement, and the Spectator?
Safran: With the absence of Gossip Girl, Diana (Elizabeth Hurley) got what she wanted. She got rid of Gossip Girl. In her absence, Serena is becoming a new version of Gossip Girl. Now that Gossip Girl is trying to come back, the question is: Is there room for two in the Upper East Side world?
THR: What's next for the gang?
Safran: Georgina Sparks (Michelle Trachtenberg) is coming up in future episodes. She begins in the 100th but she's around for a while. Having Georgina is always fun; this time, you have her husband and her son, so it's Georgina in her Machiavellian ways pushing a stroller -- or rather having her husband push the stroller. It kicks everything up into a higher gear. There's a Valentine's Day episode coming with a unique, fun party. There's also an event in the episode following that that's comic but also emotional for our characters. And then after that, we have probably our most monumental, life-changing event in the second half of the season. Not only does the event in the 100th episode change everything, but they're changed forever again in episode 17.
Gossip Girl airs Mondays at 8 p.m. on the CW.

Share 'Gossip Girl' boss Josh Safran on Blair's future, 'heated' moments in the writer's room

A decision is coming — that’s what executive producer Joshua Safran assures weary Gossip Girl fans, who are engaged in a seemingly perpetual fan war over which man (Dan or Chuck…because no one likes Prince Louis, right?) deserves to be an object of Blair’s affection.

But when it will happen, where it will happen, and, most importantly, who it will be — all that requires a bit more investigation.

Tonight’s episode will surely provide a clue. As Chuck fights for his life after being injured in the car crash that occurred in the last new episode, the previews have already shown Blair staying by his bedside. But Safran warns, it won’t be so simple. “We knew leading up, even though episode 10 was our ‘midseason cliff-hanger,’ we knew that the wedding and 100th episode was really where we were leading up to. So the tension is still ratcheting up,” he says.

And that can’t be more true than in regards to the fate of Blair’s unborn baby, who was also put in jeopardy by the crash. “That story line [is] important for us because Blair has grown up probably faster than anyone else on the show,” says Safran. “She’s had her set of goals and dreams pretty much from birth. So Blair struggled for several years — or for the series I’d say — with [moments] when her reality does not meet her dreams and trying to make her reality more like her dreams and wishes. So we saw the pregnancy as something that Blair very much would have wanted in her life, but maybe she would have wanted later… This whole season has been a process of Blair going up against what she expected and what is happening.”

Get more EW: Subscribe to the magazine for only 39¢ an issue!

As the show builds toward the immense drama of the 100th episode, Safran says all the moving parts will leave Blair dealing with “what dreams can come true versus what dreams can’t and be careful what you wish for.”

Meanwhile, Dan will be fully aware of what he wishes for in this second half of the season, but is more than reluctant to bring it up to the only person who could put his longing heart at ease. The only way he can? Penning Louis’ vows for the wedding. “He’s very much aware of [his feelings for Blair], as you saw in episode 8. I think he believes when he writes those vows that Blair will not find out and Blair doesn’t find out — the audience finds out but Blair does not know,” says Safran. “But that’s just more of what’s been happening to Dan — he loves from afar. The question is, will he be able to stay in that place or will he get fed up?”

The important thing to keep in mind, he says, is that even once a decision is made (something fans will see by the end of the season) “they can be reversed quite quickly and easily,” he says.

And while he won’t share what the plan is, Safran says that the resolution in Blair-Chuck-Dan love triangle was something the writer’s room did not take lightly. “[There] were definitely a couple of heated moments in the room,” he says. “Everyone here is very passionate. There are pros and cons for everything but we don’t move ahead until we have a mutual decision. That’s what I love so much about our team. It’s such a fun place to work because everyone cares so deeply. And when you’ve come to that mutual decision, everyone has been heard and arrived there together.”
