And really is it any surprise that these two are #1? Gossip Girl is the latest IT thing so is this duo. They began as confidantes and scheming partners. She was dating his best friend and they ran in the same social circles. Yet somewhere along the sniping and bantering, the feisty pair realized that there was something there between them. He tried to fight his feelings, while she pretended that she didn’t care. But in the end you just can’t fight passion, chemistry, and of course love. They might not be together right now, but everyone know that these guys are endgame and the chase and bickering is all part of the game. Besides they are Chuck and Blair – they can do what they like.

| TV Supercouples: Who They Are and How They Work
Back in the seventies, a new term was coined – “supercouple.” It began as a reference to soap opera pairings – those couples that no matter how many times they broke up and reunited – would always be “destined” for each other. The original supercouple was Luke and Laura from General Hospital, whose wedding gained the most viewership of any daytime TV program to date.
But what does “supercouple” mean outside of the soap opera? And do they still exist?
To the second question the answer is – totally. But the first is a bit more complicated.
The main ingredient for a TV supercouple is audience devotion. The second most important component, plain and simple, is drama. Supercouples are those romances that last for years and years, through marriage and divorce, breakups, betrayals, passionate reunions, and tragedy. They are couples the audience will root for no matter what happens between them, knowing without a shadow of a doubt that the two people involved are meant for each other.
Personally, I’m a huge fan of the supercouple. It’s a long-standing institution that continues to work today, just in different ways and through different forms of media. Supercouples are troubled, they don’t get a happily ever after until the end of the series – if then – and they tug at the viewers heartstrings.
Buffy and Angel from Buffy the Vampire Slayer are a great example of a supercouple. On another end of the spectrum, so are Ross and Rachel from Friends. Both couples dealt with many obstacles, separated multiple times, but ultimately still managed to convince a large audience that they were meant to be together.
There are a handful of supercouples on current TV shows as well. Chuck and Blair from Gossip Girl come to mind automatically as a couple that, despite many breakups, still maintains audience love and support. Meredith and Derek from Grey’s Anatomy are in the same group, having been together, on and off, for the past several years of the show’s run.
Then there are would-be supercouples that just don’t work for one reason or another. Maybe it’s that the stakes aren’t high enough. Maybe it’s just a lack of chemistry. But no matter how many times they break up and reunite, these less-than-super combinations just fail. Finn and Rachel from Glee fall into this category. Don’t get me wrong, I love Glee, but it’s just hard to invest in Finn and Rachel as a couple and have that intense desire for them to be together.

Right now I’m digging Barney and Robin from How I Met Your Mother as my comedy supercouple and Chuck and Blair from Gossip Girl for drama. So who are you cheering for? You have spoken and it looks like Gossipers reign all — Queen B and Chuck are the HOTTEST TV couple!
HollywoodLife.com polled its readers asking WHO they thought was the hottest couple on TV and it’s Chuck and Blair by an overwhelming win! Out of the 236,234 voters, 77,172 voted for Chair!
Chuck (Ed Westwick) and Blair (Leighton Meester) on Gossip Girl have a passionate love that no other TV couple has and clearly you, HollywoodLifers, completely agree!
The GG couple couple won by a 16 percent margin! Thirty-two percent of HollywoodLife readers voted Chair as the hottest TV couple. Damon (Ian Somerhalder) and Elena (Nina Dobrev) on The Vampire Diariescame placed second, with 16 percent of votes, almost tying with Liam (Matt Lanter) and Annie (Shenae Grimes) on 90210, who had 15 percent votes.

Team Chair Vs. Team Dair: Whose Side Are You on? Gossip Girl Season 5 Face-off!
Let's face it, Blair Waldorf (Leighton Meester)'s love life has reached maddening new heights! One moment she's marrying Louis, the next she's ignoring her “fairytale” for a life with her soul-mate, Chuck (Ed Westwick), and thennn everybody is mistaking her new-found spirituality as a fling with Dan Humphrey (Penn Badgley)!! (That last one's confusing, but you know what we mean...)
Every week a new tease! Every week a new potential direction! And every week we're left uncertain of who we favor in this most epic of battles!
With news that B's situation ― yes, we're officially deeming it a “situation” because it's so outta control! ― is about to widen from a love triangle to a SQUARE, we're curious... Which man do YOU favor?
Here's our take on the ONLY TWO OPTIONS (seriously, Louis is a snooze):
CHUCK BASS
This is the obvious choice ― we get that. Logan Echolls said it best when he told Veronica Mars, “I though our story was epic, you know, you and me. Spanning years and continents. Lives ruined, bloodshed. EPIC.” Chair is an epic love story and the two former schemers seem absolutely PERFECT for each other. Besides that, we're not sure how much longer Chuck can handle the separation. And we're not sure how much longer we can handle the sad faces he makes when they are apart. The moments we relish the most? THOSE HUGE SMILES of his, when B is within his grasp. When it's meant to be, there IS no giving up! But while we think it's gonna be Chair in the end, we're not so convinced it'll be Chair right now...
DAN HUMPHREY
We never would have seen this coming given their sketchy past, but the last year or so of Dair that we've been exposed to has had us reelin'. Blair's quips are never better than when she's with Dan, and while Chuck understands her... Dan does too. And they've had all those adorable old movie dates! Dan wrote his literary debut about his perhaps-paramour and while Blair has maintained a facade of ignorance about his "feelings," we don't think she will for long. What she'll do with that info... well, time will tell.
In the meantime, we gotta know what you're feelin'...
