you know, maybe he is scared. scared of losing his best friend. right now he thinks blair has no feelings for him at all, so if he told her now there’s a chance it would ruin their friendship and more than anything he wants to be there for her, to be in her life whether that mean she’s just his friend or more. he’d rather be her friend and have it break his heart constantly than spill his guts and lose her forever and he’d be piling more confusion and stress on her by expressing his feelings right now, with all the chuck/louis/wedding/baby drama. he’s being what she needs him to be right now and that’s a support system, a center, a friend. someone she can tell anything to. he was going to tell her how he felt, I don’t think he’s scared of being rejected I think he just expects it. he wants her to know because he thinks maybe it’ll help him get over her. but when he realizes how hurt she is and how much she loves chuck and how torn she is he decides not to tell her. because he puts her first.
the difference between chuck not telling blair he loved her in s2 and dan not telling her in s5 is that chuck’s reasons are all because of chuck, while dan’s reasons are for blair. chuck couldn’t tell her he loved her when he KNEW she loved him back, all he had to do was say it and he had her but he couldn’t/wouldn’t because of his own insecurities. that’s cowardly. dan is keeping his feelings to himself because he cant stand to cause her more pain and right now i think he’s right in not telling her. of course he’ll tell her eventually, they wouldn’t have built it up this much and have everyone basically know he loves her except her and not have a big scene where the truth is revealed. especially now with the whole vows thing (and the book which she is the star of and has yet to read fully). it’s going to be big. she’ll find out about all of it. and hopefully she’ll realize that everything he’s done has been for her, he loves her the way she deserves to be loved. hopefully she’ll learn that dan is the right fit for her and has been all along. more than anything I want her to read those vows and that book and be able to see herself through dan’s eyes. I want her to see how amazing he thinks she is, how smart and funny and motivated. I want her to know she’s worthy of a pure simple love that wont destroy her or whore her out. I want her to love herself as much as dan loves her.

Everything was beautiful until I read “Chuck”. Do you really want to compare season 2 to season 5? Sure, in season 2 Chuck didn’t tell Blair he loved her because of his “insecurities” but as far as I am concert, all he ever wanted was Blair to be happy and live the fairy tale she wanted even if it was not with him. Dan in season two (honestly in all seasons, before 4x11) always thought the worst about her, said that they two deserved each other…. basically awful things. He would never do what he is doing now (abdicate his own happiness because for her) . Now, you will say “But they weren’t even friends blahblahblah” and if you notice, Chuck and Blair weren’t even a couple so what’s the point? Obviously things changed and now they all are mature. People act like Chuck is a horrible guy and Blair is a victim when obviously is not like that. Blair is not a saint. Blair tricked Chuck into kissing a guy just because she wanted to make a speech, even asked him to sleep with her boss. Sometimes she wants things so badly that she crosses the line. Chuck did awful things too but so did Blair. They two messed up. In relationships these things happens. And honestly, the day Dair happens will be the end of Gossip Girl, for good. No offense, but seriously? I love them as best friends (and now I’m not even sure about that) but they are ruining a lot of things just to make them happen and that’s not fair. Remember when we used to get Blairena scenes almost in every episode? Now that doesn’t happen because of Dair which is stupid because who has been there for Blair since the very beginning? Serena. As a couple: Blair Waldorf would never date Dan Humphrey. Never. Besides the fact that it’s wrong because Serena is her best friend, which is more than enough, she is Blair Waldorf. Dan Humphrey is not an option. Chuck? He knows Blair more than anyone and not only because they dated. Remember in the first episode when Serena came up and Chuck was just watching? He knew everything, didn’t he? He knew that Blair would freak out, he knew how Blair was insecure. He knows her. All her sides. Wanna talk about princes? I bet Humphrey would never do what Chuck did in the last episode of season 4. Dan almost made Blair give up everything on season 5. Season 5 hun. After all, Chuck is more mature than him. Just trying to make a point, right here - Chuck is team Blair happiness since the very beginning and Dan just realized how he feels about Blair, how she wants her to be happy n-o-w. One last thing: When were you when Chair was happening and Chuck did incredible things for Blair? I think we are not watching the same show.

I completely agree with this post. According to me, Dan did nothing, nothing selfless by not telling Blair he loves her. You say Chuck whores her out and abuses her and does all this shit to her. You’re saying he’s so amazing and selfless by not telling Blair he loves her, how exactly? Would Blair have jumped in his arms as soon as he told her? Right now she needs a friend. A friend. Dan, with all his own feelings, doesn’t understand this. All he cared about was telling her he has so very many feelings about her, not getting that she’s in between two men, and doing so will only complicate his life further. Chuck has been, and always will be most selfless when it comes to Blair. When he let her go in 422, he had a real option of being with her again. Blair wanted him then, but he chose to let her go because he felt she deserved to be happy and what they did was wrong. Dan didn’t have that option, get it? Blair would have excommunicated him. As in never spoke to him again - let’s be real.
The pathetic thing is you can’t even say anything about Dair without listing Chuck’s faults.

с 2 согласна, неправильно сравнивать 2 и 5 сезон
вообще в корне не согласна с первым, и сразу сделали Дэна таким хорошим  вот что значит фанаты, ну
достало уже это все, одни и те же факты от дейр, и все сводится к тому, что припоминают все грехи Чака
