THE ANNUAL SNOWFLAKE BALL — For the annual Snowflake Ball, Blair (Leighton Meester) and Chuck (Ed Westwick) make a bet that they can find the ideal dates for each other. Aaron’s (John Patrick Amedori) ex-girlfriend, Lexi (guest star Natalie Knepp), expresses an interest in Dan (Penn Badgley) which creates conflicted feelings for Serena (Blake Lively). Nate (Chace Crawford), Jenny (Taylor Momsen) and Vanessa (Jessica Szohr) get into a tangled situation that puts their friendships and hearts on the line. Kelly Rutherford and Matthew Settle also star. Patrick Norris directed the episode written by Robby Hull (#212).

Chuck finds out at his father’s will reading that he is the now the CEO of Bass Industries, so that’s why Jack wants to be his guardian! Jack is upset by this. Chuck also agrees that Jack can be his guardian, based on Jack rule of no curfew and that he will allow Chuck to have girls sleep over!
Chuck uses his father’s office to entertain Jessica and Olivia. Dressed in boxers with drugs on the desk, the board arrives for a meeting only to be disgusted, they then leave. We will meet David Schneiderman the head of the board of directors who is obviously suspicious that Bart isn’t working and isn’t surprised by Chuck’s display because of his reputation.
It’s true Lily and Rufus had a son, they try to contact him and meet with an adoption lawyer Miles, but can’t because their son had to register at a search service for them to contact him since it was a closed adoption. Rufus is upset because Lily never told him she was pregnant. Miles agrees though to contact the parents to see if they would be willing to meet with Lily and Rufus.
Miles meets with Lily and Rufus’s son’s adoptive parents, Renee and Chris Rosson. Renee knew the birth mother would eventually want to meet her son. Renee is emotional and can’t agree to meet with Lily and Rufus.
But Chris the adoptive father does, and tells Lily and Rufus about their son Andrew…. Unfortunately, we will never meet him, because….he died in a sailing accident he and his friends jumped in the water, but Andrew was swept away in a riptide. This is why Renee didn’t want to meet them to tell them about it. Chris hands them a newspaper clipping from the accident. Lily is very emotional about the news; she asks if her son was happy. Chris tells her he always smiled. Rufus puts his around around Lily to comfort her. Chris also hands them a plaque with Andrew’s handprint. He made it at school as a child for Mother’s Day and Renee wanted Lily to have it.

There’s a party at the school’s pool, all the regulars are there Blair, Serena, Chuck, Dan and Nate. Something goes wrong another student Andrew Collins gets pushed in the pool hits his head, but Nate’s a lifeguard saves him and does CPR. Serena calls the ambulance. Andrew Collins is OK. Chuck picks a key to the pool with a ribbon on it. The all get in trouble with the new strict Headmistress Queller though, when a cell phone that was kicked under the bleachers is discovered with photos showing their wild times. The twenty students who were at the pool meet with the old headmaster Prescott and Ms Queller. They all have to write a 10,000 essay about why they were on school property at night with drugs and alcohol. Queller also intends to interview each student to discover who was responsible for the whole party and that student gets expelled. If no one tells or confesses all 20 get explelled. Apparently from the script, this weighs the heaviest on Dan, is he responsible?
Nate confesses to Queller! But is he guilty or taking the rap. Queller calls he mediocre and is surprised of his behavior because of his family’s problems. Nate just wants his punishment and promises to do better. To prove he did it he gives Queller the key on the ribbon, but she finds it hard to believe he is responsible, especially since the ribbon is not the original key chain and he doesn’t know what it looked like or if there was one. Queller shows him the photo of the key from the cell phone and asks who he is protecting?

First of all, can we just point out that the CW's Gossip Girl is probably having the best creative season so far of any series on television? If you've been watching, I defy you to prove otherwise in the comments below.
And the totally awesome twists and turns just keep coming...
Inside sources have just revealed to me that not only is next week's episode (about the aftermath of Bart Bass' accident) one of the most gripping episodes ever, it involves a jaw-dropping twist for one of the Gossip girls. And yes, that twist involves a pregnancy!

We will find out that one of the Upper East Side females we know and love is indeed with child.

Any guesses as to who?

Did Serena's artsy-fartsy new lover, Aaron, seal the deal?
Maybe Blair's carrying a little Basshole?
Or could it be Lily? Or Vanessa? Or...?
